Frame is bare and ready for a degreasing, parts are all bagged, tagged, and put away. I need to get a parts washer to get everything de-gunked and looking clean and well kept. LOTSA polishing to do.....hahaha. It aint gunna be a mirror, but it'll pass at 20 feet!! I want her to wear her 33 years well. I found the main source for the wicked handling...the pillow blocks/rubber isolators? are distorted badly and one has a wallowed hole, that and the retaining nut wasn't even finger tight, and it looks like it's been that way for awhile.

Just like the swing arm rubber thingys in the twin cam frames pre 2010, those rubber blocks can really mess up the handling is they aren't replace every so often.

At 96K, it's probably time for me to pull mine apart and inspect, or just replace them anyway.

Parts are dribbling in and today was frame day. Cleaned, sanded, and treated for rust early this morning. Mid-day became painting day cause it was 72* and no wind. Shiny black now EVERYWHERE...it aint perfect, but it's protected. Oil based enamel by Rustoleum designed for outdoor use also with rust inhibitor in it. I plan on letting it dry for 48 hours before I do anything...it's sposed to be almost 80 tomorrow.

If you can let that paint bake in the sun for a week. We painted a skid for a roll off truck with rustoleum. It is tough as nails. Use it to haul skid steer etc.

You are WAYYY more patient than I could ever be.

And your garage must have a lot less stuff than mine.
