Cleaning SE Air Filter

Had occasion to clean the air filter today. I was going to replace it with the K&N HD 0800, but decided to see how cleaning worked, since the SE is supposed to be as good as the K&N. I had a hard time finding the method, and when I came up with the factory instructions , I thought I'd share.

I used the K&N Filter Charger kit & procedures on mine. Never had an issue with it. Have the Ness product now and use the same method without issue.

The current SE is paper, so me thinky the Filtercharger procedures are less than advisable...

Those HD instructions are dated 2000, so if the SE is now paper they're probably not well advised either.

According to the local shop, except for the oiling, directions are the same. Never did understand why you need to oil the filter on a twin cam. I thought they were all self oiling.
