UPDATE!

I just got the call from the bike shop - my motor is ready!!
Bottom end has been checked - still solid....complete new top end - pistons, rings, piston pins and bushings, valves, guides and seats. We also put in a J grind cam and I bought a new Bendix carb with an adjustable main jet. I'm going to pick it up on Tuesday, and hope to have it running on the weekend. C'mon Spring!!

Dave, we have had two different waves of Robins come through in the last two weeks. You better hurry.

It would take 2 weeks of 70 degree weather to melt all the snow....I figure that I have at least 3 weeks before I can get out and ride. I'll be ready.

I had a robin show up in January. Was saddly funny watching it sit on the small little patch of frozen ground.

Well, I've got a little more done. Motor's back in the frame, and the front crash bar is mounted. I've got pics of it on the bench, and I have a pic of some of the parts replaced. The last pic is a close up of the front piston....I think this build was needed! More to follow later.

I don't know... the cylinder had no score marks in it, just the piston. The rear piston was showing some scoring as well, but nothing like the front one.
