Solid wood flooring

Can anyone suggest on a solid hardwood flooring manufacturer?

Iv'e been looking at
Bruce
Somerset
Mirage
Mullican
Mercier
and a few others

Since i'm doing this myself I figured I'd be better off not using the Bruce Sterling strip that Home Depot sells.

3/4 x 2 1/4 solid red oak in Gunstock or similar color is what Im looking for

I've installed Bruce hardwood flooring in a house I owned for 5 years. I was very impressed with the quality, but it was purchased from a dealer and professionally installed since the dealer was a good friend of mine. I dont know if they have different grades they sell to dealers or Home Depot, but mine was good quality.

The best part of buying pre-finished, is that they use a very strong finish and bake it on in a kiln, so it is much stronger than something you could get from a refinish job.

Getting ready to do my family room. Well not realy ready, but the carpter is torn out.

What about a polyuerthane on top? I got some unsealed floors, dry feel, doesn't feel bad, nice color but gets stained.

Ok, next is the roofing. Use the fiberglass shingles, shake style. Then, your house might look good in a tudor alpine siding with accents. Then, use a epoxy floor cover for the garage floor, maybe a nice shade of gray. Maybe build a complete wood working shop on the rear of the garage...are you done yet? Keep going man, looking great! It's great you are taking your mid-life crisis and doing something constructive with it.
