2012 Doofapalooza

Been thinking about putting out there and nosing around some weekend. Haven't been in that area of Co. since I was a kid. I'm sure it's changed a lot.

Only about 8 hrs. from me.

I think my bike may be "parked" until 2013. DPH and I decided to take a season off after my recent work related life improvements and get some things taken care of. If all works out well, 2013 may be a 20,000 mile year for us.

Can't say 'yea' or 'nay' to anything for next year right now.

Looks like a cool place to visit, tho.

I think it's like 1200 miles one way from here.

Lots of good roads to ride there, though, and I'm sure lots of folks here have never been there. Truth is: I've ridden all over Colorado. I'd still go, though, cause I havent' been in years.

Another good location a bit further north is Nederland, CO on the Peak to Peak Hwy. Just a bit south of Hwy 7 coming out of Estes Park.

This was a strange year though, ski resorts in the Tahoe area were still open until July 4th.

I remember 7 coming out of Estes Park. I think they called it the St. Vrain highway. What a spectacular ride!

Some friends of mine here have been talking about doing a fly and ride. More specifically, a ship, fly and ride. Ship our bikes to Las Vegas, fly in, and then ride them home. This just might work out............
