Dreaded shifter seal
Elvis, my 2011 Road King Classic developed a leak that's drove me crazy for the last 2 years. Finally narrowed it down to the shifter seal.

Removing everything in front of the seal and re-installing takes a lot more time than the seal replacement itself.

#9 on that first one is the inner primary seal. I just replaced that one on my bike recently.
#14 on the second one is a snap ring, not a seal. I think you wanted this diagram. #14 maybe the seal your meaning? #24 is the shifter shaft seal https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...0SIDE%20COVERS

I didn't feel like dealing with it right now. I cheated and took it to the dealer. All fixed for now.

Shifter shaft seal. Also had a rocker box leak on the rear, but the drip came from the shifter shaft
