Great pictures, Dan. Here are some more:
Getting our tickets at Carlsbad Our Park Ranger Guide. (she was very good) The White Sands Dan was talking about: Dan! Our campsite in Holbrook Painted Desert KOA Dan, standing on the corner. (Actually, he did a couple of U-turns on the sidewalk to get into position!) |

The four of us at Meteor Crater
Our Indian guide at Meteor Crater The first of two big 2-hour waits on our trip. This one was due to a motor home that burned to the pavement and set the prairie on fire. Elk walked through our campground at the Grand Canyon South Rim Mather Campground. Cool! This bridge is huge! It almost dwarfs the Hoover Dam. Zion National Park. |

We took a little hike. 5.2 miles with 1,100 feet of elevation gain!
The climb to the top didn't have a path, just some chains to hold onto while picking the way along the thousand-food drop-offs. Almost at the top. . . . .NOPE, false peak. Top was 15 minutes more hand-over-hand climbing. View from the top On the way back down Back on level ground after over 2 hours of climbing and descending. Time to go eat steak. (And we did, big time!) Campfire at night, then time to hit the hay. My tent, complete with decorative lighting Leaving Zion. Next stop, Ho Made Pie in Carmel. Then Grand Canyon, North Rim |

Yeah, I can do it for a bit, but really need a close by porcelain pot to do stuff in.
And I think I'd have to have a oversize load sign on the bike for the extra wide sleeping pad roll...
