Boot Fire...
ten to twenty miles North of town around the CA state route 108 area.
The fire started Tuesday afternoon, they closed US 395 and yesterday they closed SR 108 and evacuated the Mountain Warfare Marine training base. Bryant (USFS) field is just across from where I am currently residing, they are running three helicopter teams off it and just now they have brought in two converted seaplanes that dip down on the lake here and skim a load of water in before going back to the drop zone. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/ Boot Fire is South of Carson City NV on the map, will have to zoom in a bit and move cursor around to find it then clicky...

Wonder if they're clearing the air space for a few runs from the DC 10 air tanker?

Fire season can't end soon enough this year. Wyoming has had it (whisper) relatively light this year though there are several fires burning in the state right now.
