Nice!
Over here they finally got the fires in Yosemite out. Very little haze / smoke here now. It's been in the mid 30's in the mornings last week, the snowflake warning light has been coming on in the car last couple of mornings, Burning man people migrating North. What stove (insert) is that, that you have? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

Thanks Tom! Yup, the house was 65* this morning, that unheard of. Usually this is full tilt A/C still. Ah well, should make for a good start to hunting season kickoff in five days....
It's a Envirofire Kodiak, built here sturdy as hell and no cat and all that crap to go wrong! I've ran their wood stoves for at least twenty years. Dirk |

I've been running an Avalon Olympic that was in stalled in the late eighties.
Had to look for the S/N and build date for some internal parts a few years ago and found that it was built in 1989. When the wood stove Nazi's, from the City of Mammoth Lakes, came around to check if ours met emission standards, they said our was GTG, it has the re-burn tubes in the "roof" of the firebox and if you set the damper and air intake just right you can see the re-burn flames coming out of the air tubes. No catalyst either and meets burn emission standards. Just looked them up on line and it appears they no longer make stoves. .

I always enjoyed the trim work. It lets me cover up most of my mistakes.
Years ago when I was building houses that was the mantra, "Don't worry. The trim man will cover it up".

Thank You All for the props, some sweat equity involved. Had the mason back for the last couple days, he'll be done tomorrow but you get the idea. Takes about a week for the grout to cure and lighten up.
I got a switch roughed in the stone to the attic quick like for some nice small diameter pot lights with gimbal trims.... Bottom cabinets are for wood, getting some removable liners with rubber backing fabbed up. No Mr Jack, no TV - We are weird there is only my ass kicking stereo on the main floor. I can't even remember the last show we watched Dirk |

Thanks All,
I'm a little proud of this reno, besides the kitchen it has the most eye candy for me... Weird how time slips past, we just did the kitchen (11?yrs ago) and it needs a little spruce up... First burn last night, nice and mild - just to dry the bricks and cook off any oil & paint. Another tonight and then she's loaded for bear.. The stove was still warm this morning and we went to bed around 11 and it was dying then. Mess be dammed, nothing beats wood warmth! Dirk |

Just found out Avalon wood stoves is out of business. Sad...
Love wood stoves, I always have a pair of welding gauntlets for repositioning wayward logs while they are burning. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
