Rotella T 15w-40
Switched this weekend, it came highly recommended by those who know. Since Valvoline raised their prices to 12.00 a qt for conventional oil I'm done with them.
Only got about 100 miles on it this weekend but initial observations are it's a good oil for winter. No noticeable changes in oil pressure cold or hot, seemed to start easier, no engine noise whatsoever and I noticed that swish swish piston noise is gone that I had with the valvoline 20-50. Better yet it's dirt cheap at Wally world, 8.00 a gallon, it's rated for all kinds of diesels and it's wet clutch approved so I put it in the primary and it shifts smooth and reduced the first gear cold clunk. May be to light for summer but we will see when it gets here.

Too light for summer, not light enough for cold weather. You want a 10W for cold starts (below 50 degrees).

I ran Rotella 15W-40 exclusively in my 3406-B kitty cat powered Freightliner.
I liked the oil so much I'd get it in 55 gal. drums!!!!!!

so if the garage only gets down to 20 does it really matter? back in the day when you were dealing with a kick starter you wanted nice thin oil for the winter to save your knees, but with a pushbutton and a big battery is it as important? drunken thoughts....

10W40 in both bikes from October thru March solves the problem.

Sounds like it's a good thing I didn't want to ride to work this morning at 27 degrees since the FatBoy has 20/50 Harley blood in it and sitting outside!
