Sound level from stock CVO mufflers
I am really tempted to just leave the exhaust on our new bike stock, or close to it. Cindy and I both like the fact that we can hear the tunes really well on this bike, and I am to the point where I hate loud exhaust. I have a set of Jackpot head pipes, I will install those along with the stock CVO mufflers and call it good. My hearing is half gone, I wanna keep what I have!

I'm still running the stock exhaust on my 09....... makes a long ride that much more enjoyable.

I went back to stock exhaust. Kinda...... Put stock head pipes back on, but went with 2013 new take off mufflers. They're a bit throatier without the cat converters in the head pipe. All in all though, nice and QUIET!!!!

I find noise to be very tiring, I have found I can ride my new bike much farther without feeling tired. And you know what they say about, " If mama' s happy, everybody's happy"

I ran with the stock mufflers on the Jackpot for quite a bit. It sounded great, and definitely wasn't too loud.

I have stock CVO take offs on my ride. Perfect balance between performance and sound level.

I'm doing the opposite on my 2014, Woody. I'm leaving my stock header on and changed the mufflers to the Screamin Eagle Thunder Street Performance slip ons. Not loud, but deep. It's amazing how much sound the cat absorbs. I'll keep it that way for a while.
If I had the CVO set up I would likely recore the mufflers with the small FUllsac kit. (1.75") I hhad that on my CVO and it sounded good without being annoyingly loud. On long trips I wear a pair of these. (no, I didn't pay $1,000, and neither should you). They work excellent with my Sena and protect what little hearing I have left

I've been working toward the reduced levels as well. My RK has an LSR pipe which makes what I consider to be a fantastic sound for a putt around town...but it is maddening on the long haul. On the Ultra, the Rineharts were just as annoying. I'm playing with a de-catted factory 2:1 setup and a modded stock muffler. All to try to find that happy medium. I need to ask Dan how it sounded to him on the Snook run.

Speak for yourself, I just ordered 4"Rineharts for the Limited, and the stereo is amazing sound and level.

On second thought, after riding to work this morning with fat shots mufflers, that's the way to go

These are on my Buds bike, something from Fuel Moto... I didn't look too close. Nice sound, been behind him for 1200 miles as he played tour guide down here. They bark when you stand on it, but nice and deep with a crisp note on cruise.....

On the '14's the cat converter is in the head pipe. So when you put on any SE muffler, it's still EPA legal!
