Harley needs to diverge from the v twin to stay competitive with the emerging market. Soon all us dinosaurs will be pushing Daisys and the younger gang wants new technology. Maybe a V 4 over head cam water cooled 150 cu wing eater.

I interpreted that to mean that they hired Chris Bangle to design their t-shirts.

I forget where I read it, here or down the street, but someone had posted up a patent office application from the MoCo that showed oil cooled heads. The plumbing ran into two radiators in the lower fairings. I thought this was stupid at the time, seeing how the air flow would dump hot air back on the rider.
When the Revolution engine came out 12 years ago, the theory and thought behind that move was to move an entire family of bikes into the V-rod engine. Me thinks it's about time for that to happen. Face it folks, the 45 deg aircooled Vtwin has run its course.

The Revolution engine is both HUGE and heavy. It's also a little soft on low-end torque for a bagger. The patent showing the oil radiators in the lower fairings is utterly ridiculous, as there's no way that won't cook the rider and passenger.

I recall reading that the revo weighs at least 200 lbs just for the engine.

Victory did it with oil......so why not the Moco?

There was a report about water cooled heads floating (pun intended) around not too long ago.

I think they will always offer the air cooled v-twin. If (when) they come out with a liquid cooled engine it will most likely be in a brand new model.

No, there's nothing wrong with it, but the EPA makes sure it is "clean." The poor thing is so anemic, it can't get out of it's own way unless we do a stage 2 or more upgrade to make it run "correctly." It runs so hot because it's sooooo lean. The only reason the MoCo made the engine sizes 96 and then 103 was so the anemic wheezers could turn the rear wheel. With all the current restrictions in place I'm willing to wager that an 88 incher would be hard pressed to make 45 horsepower.
