It happened yesterday- "Hey, nice *****"

I took ol' Rosie by the nearby indy yesterday, on my way home from work, to have the rear tire checked for a leak.

An older guy, mid 60s?, with an expensive haircut and Harley branding on every piece of clothing, no leather, was in the waiting area.

He said "That's a good looking old *****."

I'm looking at him, a mechanic is smirking, and he's wondering why I'm not thanking him. I said "I'm trying to decide whether you're kidding or serious."

He got all embarrassed (he was serious), and we went outside so I could explain FXR to him.

I guess he just can't help himself. When we got outside he said the fairing was what fooled him. He noticed, pretty quickly, that it is frame mounted.

Then he said "I thought it was real clean, but it's not, it's dirty."

It's a company from the eastern hemisphere. They make cars, bikes, lawnmowers, and generators. And there's not a single prejudicial word in this post.

I got a friend with a very clean stock FXRT. One day we pulled into a parking lot at a motorcycle event, and some guy walked up to him and asked him what kind of bike it is. It's amazing how many "bikers" never even heard of FXRs.

Yeah, it's the standing joke for FXRers. Either "is that a Sportster?" or "is that an eastern hemisphere bike?".
