I would pin the sides with studs or core it to epoxy in some rebar to secure the pour to the existing slab. Also consider a fiber admix. I have had good luck with fiber in sidewalk repairs.

I'm sticking with my red jack and a piece of cardboard...so much work just to lift a motorcycle off the ground...when you go to sell the house, hope the new owners have a motorcycle...

It is easy . . . . if you like playing with concrete.
Hint, don't start pouring concrete at 3PM. You won't be finished by midnight, especially if you put plastic under the new pour.
