Went for a ride, ended up going flying instead..

Hi all.

What a day I have had, and I have some picture to share.....and a big thank you to GOD that I can share it with you.

I am typing this to you as a testament to good safety equipment and learning to keep you head on when it all goes wrong.

I was coming home from the Sunday pancakes at the Harley dealer(Paradise Harley) and I was riding about 35MPH when I was riding passed the entrance to Washington square mall(a very busy place) when a ***** accord popped out from a line of cars waiting to turn left onto the freeway, I was off the throttle as I was going passed. i didn't see a car waiting to turn, but I was being cautious. I hit the brakes and steered to try and go around the rear, but too late...I hot the rear quarter panel, as a last ditch effort, i jumped up as i hit the car.

By the grace of GOD I cleared the car, sailed 100 feet and landed and rolled to a stop on my back.
I had the wind knocked out of me to say the least.
As I laid there, people were coming over and asking the silliest question....

Are you all right? (NO, I just got hit by a car!)
Do you want to use my cell phone?(Yes i need to call 911, Duh!)
Are you hurt?(I just got hot by a 5000 pound car...DUH!)
Do you want so water?(NO, I would rather have a Ambulance please!)

Well the fire station is like 200 yards away, so they were there in like a minute, I looked over to see my beautiful bike all rolled up in a heap, and of course I was not much better.
So they strapped my to a back board and off to the emergency room I went.

Well I got poked, prodded and X-rayed.
No broken bones.
No road rash.
No stitches.
Nothing dislocated.
No head injuries.

But man oh man am I ever sore as all be.

I was wearing my riding boots, full Harley leathers and a new full face Snell rated helmet, The safety equipment did it's job.

After 4 hours, they sent me home with a couple bottles of pain pills, and all they kept saying is.....How fast were you going?
You know how lucky you are?

Yes I do know how fast I was going, and yes i know how lucky I am.

I them went to the dealer to check on my bike, it will be Tuesday before they get the estimate done, but it looks to be a total(Frame bent).

Here's a couple Pictures......so sad.

Well I am going to take a couple more of them there Vikaden's and try to get some rest...I have had a long day.

In closing, whether you believe in GOD or not, I am here to tell you that he did send an Angel down and he carried me through the air to the ground, it's the only thing that makes since to me. You want to know why I know this, look at the first picture, and you will see my silver Angel bell is still on my bike on the left floor board.

Thank you GOD.

Jeffy, you did have one he!! of a day and you're right, someone was watching over you. If it was me, I'd make sure that bell and the Angel that came with it were on my new scoot. Just glad you here and well enough to tell us the story.

Thank God that you came out of that basically OK! The bike can be replaced, but it does cause me pain to see that nice ride of yours crunched up.

Get healed up, and keep us informed on your progress!

Jeffy,

Oh man.... this really hit home. I am so glad you came through this unscathed. In the blink of an eye, man.

I'll hit a knee and send the big Man a prayer of thanks.

Mike
