May Long Bendover.....
Traditionally the May Long is the kickoff of tourist season in the valley, and that means a hike in fuel prices. It has been the source of heated debate and jokes, we locals refer to it as "Sunshine Tax"....
This year is ridiculous, not a whole lot of sunshine and a Huge leap in price!!! $6 for a American gallon of fuel, yup that's a $1.50 per liter, oh ya!! Good thing our domestic production is going so well.... Dirk

Is $4.99 a gallon here last I looked.
It goes up in winter because the winter blend is more expensive to make than summer blend. Goes up in summer because the summer blend is more expensive to make than the winter blend. Do they even hear themselves? How stupid this makes them sound?

This country and Canada have record high oil production. Why the fukk is gasoline so high??? Wanna know why? We are EXPORTING oil to China and India!!! Production is higher than consumption.
On a related note, how in the handmade hubs of hell did Saudi Arabia end up buying the refinery in Port Aurthur, Texas??? The way I see it, refining capacity ties in with national security. So, let's sell the ONLY refinery in the CONUS with LPG loading capabilities to a muslim country... Makes perfect sense, doesn't it???
