Thought I'd throw this out there, though it probably won't apply to most of y'all.

Dana and I went out riding yesterday, so as usual I adjusted my shocks to the 2-up setting. Bike rode and handled great, just like it's supposed to. I rode to work today, and didn't readjust the shocks. Ride's a bit harsh, but I'm lazy.

So I was doing timing runs on the way home, and hit an uphill sweeper somewhere north of 90mph, and the bike started oscillating pretty badly. Not a full-on tank slapper, but it was rather unpleasant. I pulled over shortly thereafter to make the timing adjustments, and figured it was a good time to reset the shocks to my solo setting. For the helluvit, I backtracked and took the same turn again at the same speed. Bike was rock-solid.

Now granted, I'm using longer-than-stock shocks on my bike (14"), so my effective rake has been reduced (probably why the bike turns in so well). But I think that with the additional height and stiffness riding solo with the 2-up setting, I cross the "just right" point, and enter the "too much" zone.

Something to think about.

And I just realized this is the wrong wobble thread.
