I'll probably just use the S&S lifters. Do you have to change lifters with a new cam? I always did in cars, but they weren't roller lifters. My lifters to best of my knowledge are ok, but do have about 70K on them.

Lifters, S&S adj. pushrods with covers, TW26A cams, S&S cam bearing kit, primary gasket kit to fix dripping shifter seal behind primary. $874.95 at J&P, damn this stuff adds up fast lol

Sounds like all is settled, and I like the Andrews... I also have to admit I also liked the SE 204 (for a mild cam) I put in the Mule before it went 103".

Don't buy from J&P, they are ridiculously overpriced. You should be able to save at least $200 off their prices. Put the drag specialties part numbers for those parts in at LSHD1

I've heard nothing but good things about California Phil, haven't needed anything aftermarket to try them out though.

I checked a couple of prices between LSHD and California Phil, those were a bit cheaper at LSHD, so went with them. Didn't save 200 over J&P, but did save $92 so that's not bad. 782 for it all. Appreciate the guidance.

Oh, just an aside, but when somebody mentions Timkens they are usually referring to the type of bearing that put them on the map (like the ones used on the left side of the TC88 crank 2002 and earlier), the Timken Tapered Bearings, not them as a generic bearing manufacturer.

As a general rule if something is capitalized it refers to proper noun, as in a company name. Type or style of bearing would not be capitalized.

Ball bearing axle bearings were such a pain on cars, glad they smartened up and went to tapered roller type. Back when you had to repack wheel bearings.


But now we are back with double stacked ball sets in sealed, or is that lubed?, for life type.


Gosh, stuff that just keeps rolling along for hundreds of thousands of miles is just amazing.
