IIRC it's up near the high school overlooking downtown.
But don't take any time off of your trip about.
We drove by in middle of January, then out Wind River Canyon, to Shoshoni, after the tunnels it dropped to -10° and pretty much stayed that temperature all the way to Evanston for that evening.
