Helping others...

Five years ago we started a food distribution with 3 helpers...a few bags of groceries...and about 6 families in need. Now we have 15 helpers...2 truckloads of food...and an average of 45 families every week with about 6 members in each family. Every Tuesday morning we go to the warehouse and load two trucks with fruit, veggies, diapers, candy, drinks, you name it..we have it from time to time. After we set up the tables...unload the trucks... and get ready for the food to be passed out, we all gather in a big old circle. We have prayer...share a little...sing a little...laugh..love...and just be...and it's always a blessing. Last year we distributed over 250,000 pounds of food to an average of 45 familes per week..that's about 200 people being helped every week. This morning this dear sweet little lady (her first time there) told me that she received her retirement check...paid her bills...and had 26 dollars left. She was glad to have seen our sign out on the road and came in. She was so blessed..it was cool. For a little church..we do big things. With God, size does not matter. Pray for us when you think about it..we can always do more...and prayer will make it happen. God bless the basement and all who dwell therein.
