I believe it's a BETA vs VHS story.

I'll go with Lithium

I really need to get a consensus. The lithium weighs around 1 pound while the stock HD is as heavy as a bowling ball. It's kinda spendy but suppose to last twice as long as a standard Batt..

Before you get an HD battery, check the surrounding Battery Warehouses for a better battery for a lower price.

Deka Sports Power ETX-30L....this is Deka’s touring size....get the Deka that’s right for your application. I haven’t figured lithium batteries out yet....but without certain features they are prone to fire.

Both Deka and the stock Harley batteries are made by Eastern Penn Mfg. as are a lot of others. There are only a few companies that make all the batteries. You probably have an Eastern Penn distribution warehouse near you. Give them a call. They usually have the best price and often have the one you need that has a cosmetic blemish for half the price.
All that said my local indie guy agrees with Smart Dave on the stock Harley batt.

Thank you for your responses. I could get a decent Batt for around $130 at the Best battery shop. Harley would be a little higher I'm sure.

As TOE said, HD batteries are made here in eastern PA. They have a retail outlet at the plant where you can by "blems" (slight blemishes on the case, no operational deficits). Have bought batteries for my bikes and for other folks an NO complaints as yet. Believe the last time I bought one for an Ultra it was only $78. Here is the main number (610) 682-6361 (ask for the retail store). You can call and see if they ship and if so, how much or if they can reccomend a retail location in your area.

Likely the battery would have to be shipped as Hazmat and will significantly increase the delivery cost. Might be cheaper just to buy local in CA.

Found out the Interstate one is made by Yuasa. AGM style.
Not sure if the lithium one can handle the charging cycles of a vehicle?, have heard good / bad stories.
But would have to have that fact checked for content.

I think I heard that also?

Not sure if anyone here is running the "L" battery in their motor.

Here is something: https://www.motorcycle.com/products/...s-vs-realities
