I can see where they fill a special niche.
However, for me I ride for the enjoyment of being out in the open air. Enjoying all that nature has to offer in the way of sights, sounds and smells. Riding in a bubble is not appealing to me.
I never ride in the rain, if I can avoid it.
I suppose they do appeal to a segment of older, more comfort seeking riders. But at what cost?

I can see this in countries where gas is expensive, and the guy is a white collar worker. The vid shows an economic way to get to work....and dry clothes when he gets there...YMMV!

That's a good thought: gas-saving weather protected transportation. Recreational value- not so much.
