CV troubles
Took apart my Carb and removed the thunderslide, needle, and spring. Put the stock slide in from a CV carb givin' to me by a forum member. Put the new jets in , a 48 slow and a 190 main jet. Put it all back together and fired it up! Something is wrong, not running smooth and blowing white smoke. took it all apart and made sure I put all parts in correct. Put it back together and same thing. Anyone have any ideas???

Looks like the shop that put in the thunderslide, drilled out the cover on the bottom of the carb, where theres an adjustment screw for the air bleed I guess. I wonder if I have to re-adjust that???

Oh yah, it's probably backed out a bit. It's the idle mixture. If I recall (it's been a while), about 3 turns out from seated is in the zone.

They may have drilled out hole of the bottom the slide. I was told by tech not do this on touring bike. But I don't think would cause this problem.
I got 1 3/4-2 1/4 written in my manual, not sure if this is I found it where I went. For the idle mixture screw Nightrider says 2.5 to start, so I am thinking this is where I found it. I used to have all this stuff memorized, but its late, and its been awhile. I've been in to more carbs, then panties. Not sure if that is good r bad. http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hd_cv_mods.htm |

Careful with needles, they bend easy, and are expensive. They bend real easy. Never bent a HD one, but Polaris and *****.

Do you mean you had it on top of the little plastic holder in the slide, so it was running way rich?
