When there is no f*cking SNOW on the ground, I won't ride when it is below 10 degrees F. without heated grips, not even to prove something.... and I don't have heated grips.

When there is snow on the ground...fahgittabouttit...

Did a Christmas ride about 3 years ago...it was somewhere between 13* and 16* Fahrenheit when I left depending on which news channel ya looked at, (used to ride anytime it was dry in Michigan) the day after I purchased my Gerbing Gloves and socks...now I ain't skeered of nothin' 'cept ice & snow...








(it's not likely I'll go out under 20* with a forecast of at least 40* sometime during the day )

Last two years of college...no car...just the bike...650 maxim...U of MD...work...school...snow...rain cold...nasty...some times no matter how long in a hot shower it took all night to stop shaken. Not braggen...just sayen...now...too old for that...or just remember how cold it was.

I have been stuck in it, snow, sleet, ice, freezing rain you name it, 1000 miles from home. I don't need to go looking for cold to ride in, it has found me more than enough times while out on the road.

The faster you ride
the quicker you arrive
but the colder you get.

and vise versa

I think I want a heated vest.
My winter gloves are Gortex & Thinsilator, stay comfortable.
No matter how many layers of shirts I wear, I still felt cold.
A vest would help 'heat the core.'

I used to ride in serious cold, all the time. The bike was my only form of transportation. I never did it to prove anything. I learned early that no one else cared, and I all ready knew how stupid I was.

Thinking back on it, it is a wonder I didn't wreck. I can remember wearing so many clothes I could barely move or function.

It's all about the right materials.

I wear a snowmobile coat. Windproof, designed to be ridden in, waterproof, and damn warm.

Of course, I had it when I was riding my sled every day...
