SERT or Power Commander or Daytona Twin Tec ?
2008 XL1200C bone stock with less than 5000 miles. All I want to change are the pipes and air filter. No other engine mods now nor in the future.
Which would be the best bang for the buck? Also, anyone know if the price the stealer charges for a SERT download is dependent on whether you buy SE products from them or come in with after market brands?

If that is all you are changing, I would get the stage 1 download from the dealership for a few hundred. What you would get out of a full dyno tune would probably not be worth the squeeze. If you decide to do more, either the SERT or TTS would be good options.

I have Daytona Twin Tech on my carb'd bike, and a buddy has it on his injected. Nice, easy to adjust, affordable.

Just sounds like a Stage one upgrades, dealer flash would work.

This is the copper top 2008 anniversary model my wife bought because it was pretty. She had weak wrists and then she went and injured them even more. The buying price was fair at $8000 but by time we bought accessories and 2 yr warranty it is up to $12,000. I could not stand the beating I would take in selling it so I figure just screw it and make it even better than it already is. I'm hoping for only $600 to upgrade. HD went and changed the cams around 2007 and this is a lot stronger than my 2002 XL1200 was. If you have not ridden a late model 1200 before you ought to take a test ride. I like my Superglide T-Sport but a Sportster is the most fun you can have with your pants on. I have given up the NBF for a RK.

Durham HD wants $193 and Raleigh HD wants $150 for the flash. Can an indy do this or does it have to be the dealer?
Next question ....... how easy is it to put a Ness Big Sucker on a EFI? Can I do it with simple tools? Does the tank have to come off for for access?

Normally, the dealer does the flash, I haven't run into an Indy that can do that, but they may be out there.
You don't have to remove the tank for the Big Sucker. Remove the AC cover, three screws and remove the air cleaner, 2 bolts to remove the backing plate. Install the new backing plate, air cleaner, and cover in the revers order. 15-20 minutes tops if you have the right tools.

Thanx.
For some reason I thought there would be some vacuum hoses or wires involved. https://www.denniskirk.com/182533.sk...um=cse#ratings

At most, the little rubber fingers that direct the oil mist into the throttle body. But, at least on the Big Sucker (Sucks) on my bike, they are built in, and results in oil running out of my air cleaner.

at least on the BS the oil/gas has to go thru the filter which slows it down. I have no problem with it on my superglide. I had a SE on my sportster which does not have a backing plate and spray from the carb or oil from somewhere went all over the place.
