Born: Larry Joe - November 6, 1961 & Laura - June 5, 1964 Died: October 9, 2011 Visitation: 4 - 8 PM Friday, October 14, 2011 @ Lone Oak First Baptist Church Funeral Service: 11 AM Saturday, October 15, 2011 @ Lone Oak First Baptist Church Interment: Mt. Kenton Cemetery Larry Joe Blackman, 49, and Laura Blackman, 47, of Boaz, KY passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 in Blue Ridge, GA as a result of a motorcycle accident. Larry was a Operator for New Page Corporation. He was a member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church and the United Steel Workers. He was a 1980 graduate of Reidland high School. Larry is survived by a daughter, Tristina Marie Brockway and husband Thomas of Clarksville, TN; son, Logan Joseph Blackman of Lone Oak, KY; mother, Jo Ann Hiett Blackman of Lone Oak, KY; grandchildren, Kyland Brockway and Taylor Brockway both of Clarksville, TN; nieces, Kelly Janssen of Lone Oak, KY and Lindsey Bullock of Sanford, N.C.. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Marshall Blackman and one brother, Steven M. Blackman. His grandparents were Jack and Mamie Blackman and Scott and Grace Hiett. Laura was the Lone Oak Assistant Branch Manager for C-Plant Credit Union. She was a member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church and was a 1982 graduate of Lone Oak High School. Laura is survived by her son, Logan Blackman of Lone Oak, KY; step-daughter, Tristina Marie Brockway and husband Thomas of Clarksville, TN; mother, Phyllis Sue Adams Hester of Lone Oak, KY; father, James D. Elliott, Jr. and wife Jan of Paducah, KY; step-father, Dan Hester of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Brent A. Elliott of Paducah, KY; Step Brother, Michael P. Hester of Oklahoma City, OK; step-grandchildren, Kyland Brockway and Taylor Brockway both of Clarksville, TN. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James K. and Zula Adams and James and Auta Mae Elliott. Joint funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Reid and Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Logan Blackman Scholarship Fund, c/o C-Plant Credit Union, 2500 Lone Oak Rd.
