Biggest scare yet.
Was out running errands yesterday when I suddenly started to see a new 'floater'. This was a rather large squiggly one. Shortly after first seeing it, I notice my vision in that eye getting blurry, kind of like looking through a thick hazy fog or a cloud of smoke. This is the first time in over three years of dealing with this that my vision has been affected. Pull over and call the doc's office, mine is not in but his associate is there. Explain to them what's going on and they say I have two choices, get in there or go to Wills Eye emergency room. Explain that I'm about an hour away from them and almost two from Wills, decision is to get to their office. Upon examination it's determined that the fuzzy vision is due to blood in the vitrious of the eye. Problem is that with all the blood in the eye, he can't tell if there is a new tear or at worst a detachment. While he doesn't believe there is a detachment, he does think it is quite possible there is a new tear. This would be the third in three weeks. He tells me I need to sleep whith my head in an upright position to aid the blood in settling and see my regular dr. the next day. After very little sleep last night, I head out to see my regular doc today. After a thorough exam, he determines not only is there no detachment but no new tear. Turns out the tear he laser repaired last week was right over a small vessel which had been damaged by the tear and has yet to heal, leaking blood into the inner eye. Need to take it easy for a few days and it should heal without further problems. Once again, my deepest thanks to Dr. Bob. Thanks for helping me get through a very scary evening. And thanks to all of you for your continuing prayers. He has heard them and has protected me from serious harm.
