Thumbs up

I took both front and rear Dunlop HD tires off at 10,427 miles, and but on Avon Venoms, and the first 400+ miles are great. I had them before on my FXDWG.

The rear Dunlops had maybe 1-2,000 miles left, the front could have gone another 10,000, but I wanted a matched set.

It just amazes me to hear how many miles some seem to get out of factory Dunlops. You changed at 10,400 and could of gone to 11,400 or 12,400 you say. Mine was worn slap out at 7500. Dont think I could have made 8000.

All depends on how you ride. Hard accelerations are hard on tires. I think I had 10k or 11k out of my OEM Dunlops. Haven't run them since, though. Metzlers corner, don't track grooves, and ride so much nicer. They don't last as long, but that's okay,.... I value my hide more than a few bucks more for tires.

I had 10,600 or 10,800 on my factory rear dunlop before I changed. Only got 7,000 on my Metzler 880.

Tire wear depends on:
Road conditions, worn roads and rain grooved concrete wear them faster
Bike load, 2 up and loaded all the time wears them faster
Riding style, twist the wick a lot and they wear faster
Wheels, spoke wheels wear tires faster if not keep true and tight

8k on the rear on a bagger ridden 2 up most of the time is good millage in my experience.

I got around 9500 on Godzilla's rear tire before 8-Ball convinced me I needed a new one.

Frankly, after riding in the crap we did in the mountains, I'm glad he did.
