All the pertinent class info Josh posted will be more than sufficient to assist the administrators in the identification of the asshat instructors.......

Sorry this happened to the two of you. Sucks majorly.......

Yeah, the date, time and location of the class will be enough to identify who was scheduled to teach.

How many students were there? Unless Ohio state regs are different, an instructor can teach 6 students alone.

I'm baffled as to why he offered just to "test" you. Can you explain that a little more? In Mass, you have to attend the whole course and pass the riding evaluation to get a completion card.

I'm very interested in the outcome of your complaint to the "mother ship".

People are trying to improve their skill in an already risky recreation. They should be fired!

A big thank you to Bill 76 for that info.

There were 8 bikes signed up for the course. After yolkum and I dropped out, they had their six. As to why they just wanted to test us; not really sure, but the guy really seemed to want to get out of there today. Probably just wanted to run us through the test so the paperwork was done and we couldn't ask for our money back. I wasn't there because of a test. I wanted to learn some new skills. And all the other students felt the same way, and made sure he knew that. Seems like the instructors had more important things to do today and were looking for a way to get out of it.

Based on the instructor's obvious lack of concern for those taking the course and the azzwipe attitude, I'm thinking in the long run you may have been best served by his refusal to 'teach' the course. You definitely should follow Bill's suggestion to inform the necessary parties in the hopes those two d!ckheads will never have another opportunity to interact with riders looking to learn.

That's what I was thinking too. That's why I was the first one to say I would drop out of the class so they could "teach" the other six. I'd had enough of the guy in the first five minutes of talking to him. Sure didn't wanna spend the rest of the day with him.

Ooooo, now there's a serious threat. +1.

If you have to be there a half hour early, make the damn course a half hour longer.
This makes way too much sense for bureaucracies. Due to a child's skate boarding accident, I once arrived at a WYDOT beginnning course fifteen minutes before class instead of thirty minutes before class. One instructor immediately launched into excoriating me in front of all for tardiness and telling me it was my own fault that the remaining helmets were all large and a poorly fitting helmet would make the course uncomfortable for me.

Having worked for attorneys, I've been excoriated by experts and wasn't fazed by this lightweight, but I was somewhat surprised that he hadn't noticed I'd ridden my bike to class and was holding my own helmet in one hand.

Takes all kinds, but I wish some of them would find a different job.

Those two are a waste of perfectly good oxygen.

I am glad you used restraint and good judgement.

I hope they never teach again.

Most instructors I know truly care about what they do and they care about the students. They enjoy teaching, and love to see their students go away better riders. Those jerks just wanted you to agree to take the test so he could take his paycheck and go home rather than have to teach a class. They should not be teaching anything.

I didn't understand that either. We just looked at him dumbfounded?
I think it had something to do with the fact that he couldn't teach the class by himself, but it made no sense to any of us.

I think he thought we were just there to pass the class. When it became quickly apparent that everyone there was there to learn.

I gotta make some calls today, let you all know what comes of it.
