Do you wash your bike when on vacation?

With the Doof-a-Palooza just around the corner I was wondering what to pack in the way of cleaning supplies. I don't think I'll have room for the leaf blower though.

What do you people do when on a long bike vacation?

The hotel will have pieces of old towels that you can use. Soak it in hot water and put that on your windshield and let it soften up the bugs for removal.

If you really need to wash it, most place will hook up a hose for you to use.

I clean the Windshield and carry a small squirt bottle of Scooter Buff with a microfiber cloth. On my heritage, I like to keep the tanks clean since they suffer abuse from my legs and when gassing up. Dust and dirt tend to scratch paint.
On my EG I keep the area on my saddle bags and tour pack clean where I have to touch them to open them. Again, dust and dirt scratches the paint when handled. Takes about 2 minutes in the morning to dust it off.
The rest of the bike stays dirty.

I've always felt washing a bike on trip to be a waste of time and a joke. You make a goood point. To late start now.

I carry pledge with me. I also bring the windsheild in and stick it in the shower. Works great.

I think Al, that's Big Al, will probably just cover the bike during the "ride."

Probably won't even need to wash it when he gets home.

Don't know how often he'll want to wash the trailer though..........

Just sayin'

I usually take a cotton towel for touching up the windshield and fairing, after soaking it with a hotel towel. The rest pretty much stays dirty till I get home.........

....I use the hot towel trick for the shield. If it gets really bad.......I just blow it off at a self-service car wash. Yea, the horror! I don't sweat the concern for the pressure and think most make too much of an issue about it.

Last year I waited til I got home from Sturgis, but I think I recall cleaning the windscreen once or twice on that trip...

The last gathering I was at, the motel furnished buckets, towels, soap, and water. It worked well, giving everyone a chance to visit, clean bikes and have a few cold ones.

Windshield every morning, the rest of it when I get the chance... or not. We've come back from the Black Hills several times with the bike just covered in dust (we run the gravel roads up there quite a bit).
I don't particularly like the bike that dirty, but I figure it will live through it.

carry a few micro fiber towels and a can of ***** spray cleaner with me for fairing and windshield bugs in the morning.

In S.A. on the way to CC for April fools day run, got up about 6 or so, went down, cleaned the whole bike with spray cleaner, cause it rained on me HARD last 30 - 40 miles into S.A. the night before. Went back up to room to get my stuff, go back downstairs and its raining!
After that, from now on I'll just clean the bugs off the fairing and windshield from now on.
