1. Are ya sure you're s'posed to do that?

2. Home Depot or Lowes or a good hardware store, if there is one left in SD, will have small rubber caps you can use on the nipples. I would venture to guess Autozone would have them too, but those will probably be neon, have fringe and be 6" in diameter so they sound like a bumble bee fartin' in a tin cup as air escapes through them.

Looks like I'm not the only one cussin grease guns>

When you get to my place we will grease her up to replace what ran out coming across the desert so it will be full going to ES and back across the Mountains>

When people see the brown stains on your bike and hear you using that hollar talk --- well---they will just think it is "toe-back-ie" juice from spitting going down the road>

Course I don't use BelRay like you high roller big boys that are in the money and all>

I'm broke.... I bought a Harley....

Okay, turned out that it was a plastic plug in there protecting the threads... what an idiot... normal threads...

So now... PLUNGER IN OR OUT... ****>>>> shouldn't be that hard...

BelRay was like an extra buck or something... am I going to have to bring my own plates and silverware?

Went to several auto parts places, Napa, etc.... some off road places had some old crappy black rubber VW caps that looked to short and they wanted $2.25 each... I won't be raped.... my God... I paid $15 for an entire grease gun that I can't seem to use.

Got online and found a place with EDPM caps in a quantity of 50 for $1.89 plus $7.50 shipping.... I'll have a lifetime frikkin' supply...

I even checked elsewhere that EDPM is compatible for brake system seals and lines before I purchased...

I recognized an oil pump and a rocker arm assembly that was displayed at the off road place..... DAMN!!!!!!!!

I know what the hell gerotors are!!!!!

I use wheel bearing grease that I butter into an empty cartridge with a putty knife. It's designed for heat and is water proof.

People on another board have talked about using the Lucas Red-N-Tacky grease. Has anyone ever used it?

I saw this in the parts house the other day and considered it, but that's the extent of my experience. I think Jams has a good idea with the bearing grease too.

Really, any highly stable grease should be fine here. It's not like we're talkin' about lubin' a fine Swiss timepiece.

I have had many battles with grease guns. I think I am on my third. Last one just sucked. This one is ok.

You really do need to read the directions. Pull plunger back to lock, swearing, hands slipping in grease, the hole while.

I use polaris grease, for bike sled atv. Just one grease gun. Ran out couple weeks ago. Not looking forward to reloading it.

Gonna have to something with Ultra. Either change the fitting or different end on the gun. Change the gun might help for other stuff. But will probably change nipple.

I got the flew hose, but the damn end is big.

get a 45* grease fitting...1/4-28 threads

if you get a 90* fitting, you have to take it apart, & install it piece by piece...

Only 42 plus one pages to go detailing one grease gun and one zerk fitting. Carry on...

?????

I just put a 90° zerk on my Ultra and didn't have to take anything apart.
