Les Miserables
We just got back from seeing it. If you are familiar with the story/musical, this is a MUST SEE! I have seen it three times on stage. This adaptation was very well done.
Russel Crowe should keep his job as an actor, but his performance was commendable, considering this was....out of his league. The story held true. The music was outstanding. Ann Hathaway's rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream" brought a tear to my eye, as did Samantha Barks rendition of "On My Own" and Hugh Jackman in "Epilogue". I give this movie an A+++. It has many awards coming it's way. I am moved by music, especially of this caliber.

Yeah.
Just got back myownself. Wouldn't give you 2 cents for it on stage, but I frickin' LOVED the movie. Hugh Jackamn can sing. Was just fine until the final scene in the convent.

I've seen the play at least 5 times (I've lost track) and was greatly anticipating the movie. It did not disappoint AT ALL! I was prepared to be a bit forgiving of Ann Hathaway, but I didn't need to be - she did an awesome job. I already knew Hugh Jackman could sing, but he became that character to such an extent that I forgot it was him. Great, great, great movie.
