Had the mounts (donuts) replaced. I was feeling lazy, and the tech I always use is now the service manager and really took good care of me on 'em and still did the work himself , so what the hey. Anyway, I really didn't get enough saddle time on the way home to know for sure if that took care of the "metal to metal" feel I'd get on sharp bumps (he said when the air shocks get worn out sometimes they'll do that on the rebound stroke), but....
That nasty vibration I had at 1800-2200 RPM is freakin' GONE! Happy doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feelin'. The donuts weren't all torn up or anything, and he said he's seen a lot worse. They had about 1/8" of sag, but apparently that was enough. Thing is way tighter in the handling department, too. Bearings and whatnot were fine. I am pleased. According to John (the tech), 40k is the replacement interval for the swingarm mounts and the front motor mount anyway, so I was due. We left the Glide Pro front mount alone since I'd just put it on last year anyway , even though I really couldn't tell any difference after I did, probably because the back was so sloppy. Added bonus, now that he's the service manager, he actually put somebody on the washrack who's worth a shit, and my bike returned clean for the first time in probably 5 years. Previously, there was a standing order not to wash my bike because every time they did, I swear it looked like they just wiped it off with dirty red shop rags and I'd have to polish the swirlies out the following winter. Ahhhhhhh... Sent from my li'l ol' iPhone 4S augmented w/ a mophie juice pack plus® using Tapatalk. Probably from the crapper.

Gonna be hard to keep me off the thing now. After Orbit's news that his similar vibration was a crank that had shifted, I was plum worried every time I rode it.
