Puzzled
got the tank back for my FXR and put it on...gas in...fired up the new motor....wait a minute...where's that oil coming from??? I put a front mount filter on it and had forgot to tighten the fittings....shut it off...tightened them up...fired again...let it warm up a bit and noticed the filter starting to balloon at the end...WTF?? Called my Indy and he says "ya got something plumbed wrong...bring it to me"....now...I had pressure (got a gauge)...there was cavitation bubbles in the oil tank....lifters pumped up....I THOUGHT i was diligent when I plumbed the lines...anyone got any ideas? Its a Fram filter

not sure but here's a comparison of the 2...one on the right is the Midusa filter..the return holes have a space under them for oil to flow

on the left..the Fram...it looks like they're blocked off for some reason (which would explain why the filter started to balloon...oil coming in but not being able to escape)...the Fram is shorter too but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I would try and contact fram to get an explanation, they must make thousands of filters so how does this happen? a bad run of filters or a bad design, maybe you can get a lifetime supply of crappy filters you can sell on ebay

This is awful obvious, but did you check the model numbers?

Also, I missed it if you said where you got them. Could they be foreign fakes?
