Never wash your bike again

That's right...Never wash you bike again, so long as it is under warranty.

Just keep finding Service Bulletins and take it to the dealer.

They do a very good job - better than I would - at detailing your bike.
Okay, so they don't get the powder off the rims that you might...but, you were going to get the Lyndall race pads anyway. (highly suggest)

Westminster HD in CA really cleans the bike. They even wiped the inside of the fairing off (Road Glide) where it is hard to reach with you hands. Now, that is some dedication. (or maybe they just feel guilty)

So, keep an eye out for Service Bulletins, print them out and take them into the service department. The service reps really can't argue with you when you have a piece of paper from THE COMPANY.

My rep even used the Service Bulletin to write down what part numbers were needed on the work order form.

Sadly, these "free wash jobs" will end at the end of the warranty...so, take advantage of them while you can.

I have read that some dealerships give away free beer at events. Anybody know which ones?

Good info, Russ...but I really didn't have any intentions of washing it anyway.

Very Tough Forknuts has a section. There are others if you search.

'06

M-1185 Fuel injectors from 8 to 25 angle spray
M-1182 Old style front motor mount
M-1192A Swapping and aligning fixed dual discs (front)

See, now you have at least 3, COUNT'EM 3 "free washes."

Got a new tire put on at the dealership today and they tried to wash my bike. Told them not to, "That's 10,000 miles of dirt on there!"

U really only need to wash if you have farings and wide white walls. Everything else is just front forks, black walls, and bugs in teeth.

Last time mine was in, they nicked the paint, and apparently misread the service item "Re-Pack rear wheel bearing". They must have stopped reading before they saw the word bearing, judging from the looks of my beloved white wall.

Bet hey, at least it was washed,
