Sportster tires
I am going to need to put tires on the Sporty before ES. I have been getting educated on tires tonight, but am looking for personal experience with tires other than the stock D402 Dunlops that come on it stock. Looking and figuring out the charts shows that I can't get the E3's for it as I had earlier thought.
The rim sizes are as follows: Front Rim Size: 2.15x21 | Rear Rim Size: 3.00x16 The stock tire sizes are: Front: MH90-21 Rear: 150/80B16 Any recommendation would be appreciated. I can't say that I am dis-satisfied with the stockers, but then again, I haven't ridden anything for and kind of distance with different tires to know any better, either. Any and all input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am taking what you and I talked about earlier today to heart, Dave. Just looking to see if anyone has had a Sporty recently and put new tires on it and what results they have with different ones. I have a little while (actually, not a very long while) to make up my mind here. Just looking for a little more input.

More input is good.
Usually I lie, but the Brazilian Metz's are not to be trusted.

How many oh guys here have 'LIGHT' bikes ??
do you think the tires for LIGHT bikes are different that the tires for BAGGERS ??????????????? Do you think the weight requirements are different, the handling is different, the wear is different .... I'm jus sayin' ............. doesn't make it so .... but for those folks that only have experience with HEAVY bikes, and want to compare, recommend, tires, based on those experiences on heavy bikes .... and say that those are the 'right' tires for 'LIGHTER' bikes .... well ..... I don't know that those experiences necessarily make the cross over to the lighter bikes .... jus sayin' ............ I cold be wrong .... .... it would not be the firs time ..... HOWEVER ..... it HAS BEEN my experience, so far, after many years, that in conversation with folks that have heavier bikes than mine ... that they have a different preference in tires ...... seems to have something to do with the size of the bike, the weight of the bike, the handling of the bike, the riding style difference ..... must be that there is some difference ......... I've come to the conclusion that the tires that guys like on their baggers .... isn't the tire that I prefer on my FXR .... ... I'm jus sayin' ............. we all have different experiences ...

Ed ... jus my opinion ... the stock dunlops are not the best tires you can put on your sporty .... there are 'several' better options ... imo
I don't wanna get into the 'fight' about it ..... but if you want to hear my opinion ... ya can call me ......... that is all

Reason I ask ... is because it's been my experience that those dunlops are not really very good tires in regards to handling. They wear well, but do not provide good handling performance for the bike ... well, not on mine anyways .... and mine isn't too far removed from the likes of a Sporty . Thanks
