Neutral Light
I noticed when I got the bike out this year (last weekend) that the neutral light is flickering, like the sensor isn't quite picking up that it's in neutral or something. Just wondering if this is something I should be concerned with as in, will it effect anything else with normal operation? Is it something easy to fix? I'm always careful when letting off the clutch after starting it, not being one to just trust a light in the first place. So far it has always been in neutral, but the light doesn't always stay on steady like it did previously.

Ed, ya got a loose connection somewhere. The neutral switch is on the transmission, activated by a small detent on the shift cam. Make sure the wire is firmly secured to the switch.
The switch itself could also be defective. |

Thanks, I'll take a look tonight.
Dan, I only found 2 nuts behind the handle bars. Hurt when I tightened them, but didn't fix the problem.

The connector for the light on my RK comes loose and does the same thing...I just crimp it a bit and plug it back in.

Mine does the same thing. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Adds a touch of the unknown to letting out the clutch at a stop or hitting the starter button.

I think it has something to do with the garage door opener, or that no-longer hanging starter......
