drilling mirrors
any advice on this?
 i'm hangin a 54" tv on the wall and the whole wall is mirrored top to bottom. i need 4-3/8" holes drilled through for lag bolts. should i just call for the glass people?

Yes. Call the glass shop and ask if they Guarantee that they will replace free if they break it.
They may just snicker but I would try that. The various diy carbide bits and rod saws etc, CAN work... but they are veeeeery slow. If the mirror happens to be tempered I don't think it can be drilled at all. I'm curious what the people who actually know will say.

try it down in the corner...

I used a carbide bit on ceramic tile and it worked fine, but that has absolutely nothing to do with you

I tried using one of those glass bits to drill a hole in a glass bottle for a project sleeveless wanted to make some time back.
It didn't work.  Buy a sample piece and practice.. You may not like the result. The other issue I'd be worried about is what happens when you go to tighten the bracket up agains the mirror panels on the wall??? I'm thinking to loose and the tv will wobble, to tight and you crack the mirror.

Is the wall one solid mirror, or made up of individual mirrors?
With a 54" TV you wont see the mirror directly behind the TV. Remove that section of mirror so that you could solidly mount your TV to the wall. Oh ya, we want to see pics of the finished product.
