Stock ECU vs T-Max
This may sound totally off in left field, but when I bought my TC - I came from a Shovel that I knew very well, but EFI's and ECU's not so much. I then proceeded to put True Duals on and the bike popped on decel like mad, listening to the local EFI Specialist (no longer in town) I ended up with a closed loop tmax and his map.
Bike ran fairly strong and the popping stopped, I couldn't tell a huge difference in pulling power, but I convinced myself. The problem was that she will ping if I whack the throttle below 3.5/6K so I learned to anticapate and roll on a little easier (the bike is usually loaded down) and hot starts issues cropped up. After the "specialist" dicked around with it a few times, he dissapeared and a Dyno ain't really a option around here. Bought a usb to serial adaptor for my laptop and cannot read the map and I have the tmax program! They also cannot be bothered to answer e-mail. I'm a stubborn guy and like to do my own work, so the question to this rant is: If I put my stock ECU back in with a 95", Torque cam, and a Super Trapp 2-1 with no 02 sensors, does it have enough range to cover it or will I be choking it? I'm not scared to spin wrench's, but don't think I want to learn a whole new trade in electronic tuning....... Cheers, Dirk |
