Satellite Radio

Thinking of getting satellite radio for my Ultra. Any suggestions. Do they make a waterproof unit? I have been to the XM website and didn't see anything for motorcycle.

I was thinking I could plug it in the jack on the radio. Then need some kind handlebar mount, and antenna.

You can get a pretty decent kit from Sirius for $146 w/radio and brackets.

At Amazon looks like kit for bike is $50, you click on the radio $100 on sale. Not to bad.

Are they waterproof? I am guessing not.

I am surprised they don't cater more to bikes like the GPS do. I can put itn my pocket, when it rains. But then will have to drive in rain, and no tunes on top of that.

Probably more water resistant than waterproof. I've seen guys either take them off in a downpour or put a sandwich bag over it and secure it with a rubber band if it started storming.

I have a little shower cap that's made for GPS's and sat radios, but before that, I used Glad Wrap bowl covers. They're round and have elastic around the edges. Snaps over the radio head and keeps it dry. I ride in the rain with mine all the time. No prob's.

This is 1st bike with radio. I find its on alot.

Geeze-which techmount do you have? They got a ton decsription is the same.

This plate may not be necessary, but I put one on. It has 4 rubber feet that absorb any vibrations from the bars.
