He told me a while back, that he's been able to locate and re-purchase all of his old motorcycles.

I'm not sure. He rode pans in the 70's, when I rode with him, as did a lot of folks. Most of them were chopped or customized.

Back then, you could pick up a pan or knuckle pretty cheap. Lot of basket cases. Most guys would strip them and cut them up, and throw away the bags and stock seats, if they had them. They never realized that they'd be valuable someday.

I'd rather restore 'em as I rode 'em anyway. Parts hunting could be fun to bring back to original, but jumpin on the pan you built 35 years ago would be pretty cool.

Lotsa parts houses making better than new stuff now.
