I don't remember who it was that asked why their fork oil looked like something found in the diaper of an angry 2YO, but here's why.

See item #140 in the pic? It's made of graphite and wears into the oil.

Oh, all new seals on the shovel today. I would like to thank the engineer who selected those particular screws used to secure the damper to the lower tube--assmunch.

'Twas yours truly having that discussion wit youse. Apparently the parts for mine are different(?) That piece on mine (if I understand the pic AND my memory functions) was Teflon. There weren't any graphite pieces in the kit as far as I recall.

I wonder if Boyd has something like that on his wing, his fork fluid had that color.

My 06 FLHT has graphite, or graphite-like, wear rings on the damper tubes. I would think teflon would also work well. The pic above is a 39mm Dyna/Sportster tube.
