Gun storage and humidity

What is acceptable hummidity level for gun storage? I got a room in basement, I want to set up for storage of guns and bows. Got a kitchen table, and a chair. Sorta room to screw with my hunting stuff.

I am thinking this time of year not such a big deal. But should I be worried about storing guns in the summer? I've thought about putting something up in the ceiling, for storage.


Maybe get a gun cabinet with a heater, but I don;t have the money for that, right now.

I do have a humidifier running, but nore sure if thats enough.

I keep hunting clothes in rubber totes, to keep mice out.

I think I am becominga subterranian dweller, like in Time Machine.

What I am wondering is what point do you need to worry about humidity? If I bought a cabinet, I would probably put heaters in it.

You don't want to dry things out too much. It's bad for the wood. Either a rod, as had been suggested, Desiccant in a bag that can be dried out in your oven, and reused, or a simple light bulb, depending on the humidity level.

I wipe mine down with CorrosionX.

I don't have a basement though.
