Lee, read the Service Bulletin (pdf file) at the post linked below. It shows the correct orientation of the new motor mount.

I didn't really notice any difference when I changed mine either. My old mount wasn't broken, though. Might make more of a difference when you ride and really use the torque of the motor, rather than just ideling.

Good you changed it, because it probably would've stressed and broken something else if you hadn't.
