The section of MT 43 from Mill Creek Rd to Divide wasn't a dissapointment either.

I tried.
I tried really hard. There's just too many. Tell me what you want to see. Tell me what you want to do. Tell me how fast you want to go. I've got a road for that.

Farm Road 4 from Granbury, Texas to Jacksboro, Texas. Take 377 South out of Southwest Fort Worth. When you get to Granbury hit 51 and it will take you to the Granbury Historic Square. Stop in at the Nutshell for a cup of coffee and an order of French toast which they make with their homemade day old cinnamon bread.
After breakfast go north on 51 and hit Farm Road 4. Now just relax and meander. . .there's a few curves, some hills and valleys, lots of open farm land. Make you're way into Jacksboro and stop at that little restaurant I can't think of the name of and have a glass of tea. After the tea break, hit 199 back into Fort Worth and stop in on the Northside before heading home. It's around 200 or so miles for the loop. |

So many roads, but this route is is my go to loop for showing guests the beauty of BC. The passes are high but not crazy high so the temps are beautiful and the mountain and lake scenery can't be beat.
This coupled with a lightly used secondary hwy systems filled with corner after corner for 480 miles but it right up there with me. Too bad y'all will probably never make it to this corner of the woods... Zoom up the scale of the map to get a sense of how twisty our mountain hwys can be http://goo.gl/maps/CFNbn Dirk |
