Company Has Been
Changing over to iPhones, recently got an iPad2 as well. Installed Dropbox on the phone,pad and pc. I can now view all docs I put in there from any device and drop them in a public folder for sharing with customers, subcontractors etc. Attachments viewed on my iPad or iPhone can be viewed in Dropbox on the device and then saved there if needed, which is then synced on all devices.
A good example of how this app helps productivity. Took a video (about 54MB) of an inspection by a manufacturers rep. The government couldn't attend the inspection. Rather than providing a disk or thumb drive containing the vid, I was able to add the URL of the file in my Dropbox on my daily report to the Engineering Tech for viewing/saving. I use the free version.

Dropbox seems to be coming on in a big way. From an enduser standpoint, it can be a real benefit...from a business owner/operator standpoint, it is a huge security risk. Various trade secrets and/or client lists can quickly and easily be swiped by bad employees if they are so inclined. Had it happen at a client recently. They were not happy when I told them there was no way for me to manage it or track it due to them implementing it they way they did. Pretty cool product regardless.

We use Dropbox on our secure network at work. Asshats rarely use it though and instead full my inbox with 50mb file attachments.........
