I think Safeway owes me one.
Called Walmart today to see when my W-2 would be in and they give me a 1-800 number to call. I call, and after giving the lady all my info, she can't find me. She asked what my employee number was and I told her I had no clue. She asked who my supervisor was and I said I wasn't sure about that either. Then she asked what department I worked in and I informed her that I'm a self checkout cashier. The lady proceeded to say " sir really?" followed by a CLICK. Such unprofessionalism from the corporate office.

Did plenty of that during my first job in high school. That and bagging groceries, at 90 cents an hour.

You're older than me. My first job wrapping gifts in a big department store payed a princely $1.80 an hour. Second job operating farm equipment paid $1.85. I vastly preferred the second and not just for the enormous payhike.

You should try submitting a W-4 to really confuse them .

Did the shelf stocking/bagging gig while in high school. After I graduated I went to work at a Sunoco station to make money for college. Ended up being a shift manager making $110 per week plus commission on parts and oil sales as a shift manager. Not bad for a high school grad in the late 60's.

I did odd jobs before I was 16. Worked part time in a processing facility trimming strawberry plants. We were not paid per hour, it was by quantity trimmed. After that kept score for bowling leagues and babysat my cousin until I turned 16 and job a real job at the only McDonalds in 90 miles. $1.65 per hour.

Girls weren't hired for paper routes or yard care when I was growing up. So I babysat. I hated babysitting. Hated it.
