(This first part is to clarify my confusing history. You'll hear me talk about dad being a Special Agent, and also U.S.Navy in the Pacific. Two different people. Dad#1 was Navy and died when I was 5, Dad#2 was the Polish Special Agent.)

Dad#2 liberated a camp virtually alone. There was him and his driver, Gregoryev, and they blustered the remaining few Germans into laying down their weapons (everyone knew the war was over.) He made friends with a Polish jew, Shemansky, and the two of them even had a small radio repair business in London after the war. Dad said Shemansky never fully recovered from his time in the camp and died several years after the war.

I agree for the most part, but gotta tell you, we've got a son who just turned 17 in Sept. He's a jr in high school, and already he's looking into USMC and USArmy programs. Something about saving the world and doing the right thing. Brings a tear to his Mom's eye and pride to his Dad's life.
