Challenge Coin -- thoughts?

Here's something I think would be pretty cool to get.

challenge coin

several places you can get them made, prices dont look to bad. Looks like several places you can get them for $2 to $5 depending on size 3/4" to 2" and color.

Thought something with maybe the doof coat of arms on one side, and the 'zintA skull & crossbones on the other. Or maybe just a full shot of side to side of a 43 timing cover on one side, and a 7 timing cover on the other side.

looks like the prices start at a base order # of 100. That sounds like a lot but dont think it would be very hard to make.... 2 or 3 to lots of people would add up pretty fast.

anybody else got any thoughts on this?

I've got a buddy in San Diego who might be able to get us a good price on them. The problem for the initial order is that the die needs to be cut which is what is costly. Get the design together, front and back and colors along with number of coins and we can get it done.

If someone can come up with the artwork, I can probably get a friend in Korea to get us a good deal.

You can always get a great deal in Korea. Where's our artists? Might be time for PME to get the word out to those who may not have served our fine country and don't know the signifigance of the challenge coin.

I kinda like the idea of the 43 one side and 7 the other.

yea thats kind of what I thought would look the best. Basically a replica of the timing covers right down to the 5 screws that hold them on.

glad to see some others think it might be cool. I hereby nominate 8-ball to do the artwork on his snooty better than all the pc's Mac. Plus he's obviously got more talent at that type of stuff than anyone else that I know of.

I friend of mine belongs to a group that uses the old silver dollar coins. They challenge each other in bars, taking out their coins and tapping the bar. All members must respond by displaying the coin, then tapping. The member that doesn't have his coin, must buy a round. However, if all members have their coin, then the initial challenger must buy. The only way into the group is to get a coin from a member.
