Bad news, good news, bad news

Well, I had a little adventure today. My work day was over, and I headed out to the parking lot to the bike. It was sunny and 70 degrees out..... what a great day for April! I fired up the scoot, and headed over to my little brother's house to drop some stuff off. I left there and headed for home. I pulled up to the intersection to make a left turn. The light was red, and I had 2 cars in front of me. The light turned green, and both cars accelerated and started turning... and so did I. Suddenly, they stopped dead. Shit!! So, do I hit the one in front of me, or lay the scoot down? I chose to lay her down, hoping to minimize any damage. I slid to a stop and the asshat in front of me looks in his mirror....... and drives away! Another motorist stopped to see if I was alright, and helped me get the scoot back up on her wheels, and I rode her home.

The bad news is that I had to lay her down.



The good news is that the only damage to the scoot was a small tear in the soft chaps on the front crash bars, and a small scrape (hard to see) on the rear crash guard.


The bad news is that I have a hairline fracture in my fu(kin' ankle.......

Doc sez 4 - 6 weeks before it heals, and I have to go see a specialist Friday to make sure all looks good.


I figger I'll be riding in a week.

I know. The Doc wanted me in an air cast, but I opted for a tensor bandage instead..... I may get the air cast yet though.... I'll see how it feels tomorrow.



BTW.... crutches suck.

And yes crutches do suck. . .I never mastered going down stairs.
